Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is on track to arrest nearly one million illegal immigrants by the end of President Donald Trump’s administration, though still short of his target. Despite this, Republicans are pushing for increased border security and deportation measures, which could lead to more arrests. ICE, under Trump, stopped posting daily arrest data earlier this week but continues to conduct operations. The most recent figures showed 864 arrests and 621 detainers as of January 31. ICE’s daily average of arrests is about 650, which could lead to the target of one million by the end of Trump’s term. However, the agency faces challenges with leaks and operational security, notably during a failed raid in Aurora, Colorado, which was compromised ahead of time.
