What Happened to This Florida Man Who Stood on His Boat Amid Hurricane Milton & Why Did He Refuse to Leave?

A Florida man, known as “Lieutenant Dan,” refused to evacuate ahead of Hurricane Milton and chose to ride out the storm on his 20-foot sailboat anchored in Tampa Bay. Despite warnings of catastrophic storm surges and flash floods, Dan believed he was following God’s will and was confident his boat would keep him safe. As the hurricane battered the region with 100 mph winds, heavy rains, and severe flooding, many feared for his safety. However, Dan survived the storm unscathed, later sharing that the experience wasn’t as bad as he expected.
